Join us for a special Storytime and trail cleanup along the Sheltowee Trace National Recreation Trail as we celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the National Trail System Act. We will meet at the Yamacraw Day Use Area parking lot under the Highway 92 Bridge at 10:30 AM ET. Families can also meet at the McCreary County Library at 10:00 AM ET and follow staff to the Yamacraw Trailhead. Please bring water and wear weather and hike appropriate clothing and footwear.
This month we will read books about protecting our rivers and waterways before we collect trash along the Big South Fork of the Cumberland River.
This is a great opportunity to work towards this year’s GOBIG challenge. The Go Big Challenge is a year-long, self-paced, park-wide event created to encourage you to go out and explore YOUR Park. In celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the National Trail System Act and the 50th Anniversary of the National Wild and Scenic River Act this year’s theme is: Rivers & Trails.
