The Maryville College Jazz Band will present a spring concert on Tues., April 18, 2017 at 7 p.m. in the Clayton Center for the Arts’ Harold and Jean Lambert Recital Hall.

The concert is free and open to the public.

Directed by Dr. Bill Swann, the band will perform “Edward Lee” by Harold Mabern, Jr., “All Blues” by Miles Davis, “Gingerbread Boy” by Jimmy Heath, “Midnight Waltz” by Cedar Walton, and “Song for my Father” by Horace Silver. MC’s Tartanband, under the direction of Dr. Eric Simpson, will perform James Barnes’ “Yorkshire Ballad” and Franz Joseph Haydn’s “Non nobis domine” (arranged by Simpson).

Jazz Band members include Chris Blankenship, low brass; Tyler Davis, bass; Christian Heislop, piano; James Gilley, drums; and Jack Townsend, trumpet.
