Owner and Attorney Brittany L. Nestor attended THE Tennessee State University receiving her bachelors degree in English and obtaining a teaching certificate in Tennessee for grades 7-12. Miss. Nestor continued her education attending Florida Coastal School of Law where she obtained her Juris Doctor degree.
While in law school Miss. Nestor was the President of the Coastal Association of Public Interest Law. As President of CAPIL she led the efforts to expand interest in social activism and volunteer activities of her fellow peers. Through events such as the Faculty Auction, Poker Tournament, and Save the Shores Silent Auction and Live Band Event, CAPIL collectively raised over $15,000 each year for various charities in Jacksonville, FL as well as a scholarship fund for law students seeking careers in social justice and public interest fields.
She finished her final semester of law school as a visiting student at Loyola University, New Orleans and subsequently became licensed to practice law in May 2014 in the State of Louisiana. In 2015, Miss. Nestor returned to Tennessee, and obtained her second license to practice law in Tennessee thereafter opening Nestor Law, PLLC.
Miss. Nestor has obtained a broad spectrum of experience through law school and the years since her graduation. She has worked on cases involving expungment and re-entry employment assistance for the formerly incarcerated, death sentence appeals work - case reviews for ineffective assistance of counsel, simple and complex divorces, child custody modifications, establishment of paternity, adoptions, and child support issues, as well as, class action litigation, asbestos litigation, personal injury, property law, small business start ups, human resources business protection consultation, employment/labor law including discrimination, workers compensation, civil rights litigation, and social security disability benefits.
Currently, Miss.Nestor is interested in taking clients in the areas of Family Law (adoption, paternity, divorce, custody, child support, guardianship, wills and estates, etc.), Criminal Law (criminal defense matters as well as re-entry, expungment of criminal records and job placement consulting/assistance), Civil Rights Litigation (discrimination based on race, sex, gender, sexual orientation, religion, etc), and Employment Law (discrimination in the workplace, wrongful termination, wage disputes, violations of state and federal labor laws).
