"The primary purpose of the corporation is to promote the performance and appreciation of traditional folk music in the Cookeville region. CCFO will work with artists from beginners to advanced, with an emphasis on those who are elderly, young and disadvantaged. It will encourage participation by those who may benefit from the experience as people and musicians. CCFO will offer concerts to the general public that are free or low-cost, with an emphasis on musical traditions grounded in the folk tradition. CCFO will perform benefit concerts in support of local nonprofit organizations."
The CCFO is a diverse group of musicians ranging from beginners to advanced players that rehearse weekly toward the goal of performing three to four times a year.
