MEET THE DOCTORS
M.W. Rhyne, Jr. is a life-long resident of the Heiskell Community in Knox County. He graduated from Powell High School in 1966 and attended the University of Tennessee at Knoxville 1966-1970. He obtained his doctorate of optometry from Southern College of Optometry in 1974. He has been in private practice from 1974 until the present with a strong emphasis in the areas of Developmental and Rehabilitative optometry including vision therapy and contact lenses.
M.W. and his wife, Susan, have one son—Seth—who is currently a student at UT Knoxville. The family is active in Mt. Hermon United Methodist Church in the Powell Community. They reside on the family farm on Bull Run Valley Rd. in Heiskell where M.W. indulges his love of gardening and farming!
David Patton, originally from Columbia, Tennessee, moved to Knoxville after receiving his doctorate of optometry from Southern College of Optometry in 1976. He and Dr. Rhyne established their optometric partnership and have practiced together since. Dr. Patton practices family practice optometry including contact lenses, lasik consultation and treatment of ocular disease.
Soon after moving to Knoxville, David met his soon to be wife, Kathy. They have two children, Becca Foster of Kansas City and Ben Patton of Knoxville. Both are now married and Becca has given him a precious grandson.
When not at the office, you will find Dr. Patton involved at Powell First Baptist Church or enjoying his hobby of fishing
